I was 14 years old, and I was noticing that I was already being placed among the best ones. For the first time, I became the general WORLD CHAMPION of Group Freestyle with the "trio" that I made with my cousin, Ernesto and my neighbor, Carlos. I could not believe that we beat the previous world champions, who came all the way from Germany to compete in group freestyle.

In standard skills, I won my age group and got the 3rd best final score in the whole tournament. My pair freestyle routine, with Ernesto, got the gold medal on the 0-18 age group, that was believed to be more competitive than the 18 & over category.
